Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve, in the city’s northern reaches, is one of the largest urban wilderness areas in the United States and features more than 60 miles of trails through diverse and scenic desert terrain. In the East-Shea Corridor Scottsdale, access to these trailheads can be gained through the communities of Scottsdale Mountain and Hidden Hills. Nearby is the world-renowned Mayo Clinic.
