One of the pleasures of life in the “World’s Greatest Hometown” is that we can each choose to have an impact on our community in a great way. One of the prime opportunities is the annual “Make a Difference Day,” hosted by The Town of Fountain Hills.
This year’s event is Saturday, October 28th, at 7:30 am in Golden Eagle Park. It will be a morning where all residents are invited to help the most vulnerable in our community by providing work service for four hours at designated projects. The Town is seeking assistance from residents to come out and show our neighbors that “Fountain Hills is the small town with a big heart!”
Groups from service clubs and organizations, the faith community, and Town volunteers make up a large part of the workforce, but each year more and more individuals sign up to help. Some people sew, some clean, organize, rake or trim…in short, not special skills are required, just the desire to be a good neighbor to someone in need.
This short USA Today video features some of our volunteers and the impact that a few hours of loving attention can have. This is becoming an annual tradition for many of our teens and families,
so take a moment, and sign up to help…you’ll find that you “get more than you give.” Questions? Please contact Heather Ware, Volunteer Coordinator, 480-816-5108 firstname.lastname@example.org.
