Experience the Magic: “The Wizard of Oz” Opens This Weekend at Fountain Hills Theater

Opening weekend is July 18th, and performances run through August 3rd, 2025, with showtimes on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Rated G and perfect for all ages, this two-act musical is a classic that has captivated audiences for generations.

This production of The Wizard of Oz brings to life the timeless story of Dorothy, a Kansas farm girl swept away by a twister to the magical land of Oz. With all the songs and characters you love from Glinda to the Wicked Witch, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion this show will warm your heart and stir your imagination.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of Wicked or introducing your children to the original story for the first time, this performance offers something for everyone. Dance and vocal arrangements by Peter Howard and orchestration by Larry Wilcox make the music shine, while the adaptation by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company stays true to the beloved 1939 film.
