Explore 150+ Public Art Pieces

Sonoran Lifestyle Beth Kohoutek October 9, 2025

Have you ever wondered about the stories behind the remarkable sculptures and art pieces that bring life and color to Fountain Hills? Our town is home to one of the largest public art collections in the Southwest, with over 150 pieces and growing! From bronze sculptures to intricate murals, Fountain Hills art can be found throughout the community, in the Community Center, Town Hall, Centennial Circle, Fountain Park, and beyond.

A Legacy of Art in Fountain Hills

The Fountain Hills Public Art Collection began nearly 20 years ago, thanks to the vision of former mayor Jerry Miles and his wife, Jackie. It all started with the installation of a bronze statue of a mother mountain lion carrying her cub near the library. Since then, the collection has grown into one of the most significant cultural assets of our community.

Guided by the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association (iLoveFountainHills.org), the Public Art Committee continues to expand the collection. Many pieces have been generously donated, while others are funded through community fundraising efforts and a 1% development fee dedicated to public art. Volunteers with the Save Our Sculptures (SOS) program also work hard to ensure each piece remains well-maintained for generations to enjoy.
