Get Creative in Fountain Hills: Upcoming Workshops at the Artists’ Gallery

One of the things I love about Fountain Hills is the strong connection between art and community. From the public art throughout town to the galleries and studios along the Avenue, creativity is part of what makes our community special.

The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery is an artist-owned cooperative featuring original work from more than 30 Arizona artists. Along with its rotating collection of paintings, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, glasswork, fiber art, and other handcrafted pieces, the gallery offers workshops where you can create something of your own.

Here are three upcoming workshops to add to your calendar, along with several more creative events coming this fall.

Paint Your Pet

Sunday, August 23, 2026
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Turn a favorite photo of your pet into a personal piece of art. Artist Kelly Bowman will teach participants a layering technique to create a pet portrait on a 9-by-12-inch canvas.

Paint 6 in 1

Wednesday, August 26, 2026
4:30 to 7:00 PM

Begin with one large painting and then transform it into six smaller individual works. This beginner-friendly class includes a lesson and demonstration using brushes and a palette knife. No previous painting experience is necessary.

Trio Fall Rings

Sunday, August 30, 2026
1:00 to 4:00 PM

Artist and instructor Veronique Benoit will guide participants through creating their own trio of wire-wrapped rings. The $70 tuition includes all materials and use of the necessary tools, making this a welcoming class for both beginners and experienced jewelry makers.

The gallery’s fall calendar also includes painting, mixed media, and jewelry-making workshops:

• September 6: Abstract Mixed Media, featuring painting, mark making, and collage with artist Sandy Gatlin. No experience is necessary, and the $65 tuition includes supplies.
• September 14: Stacking Friendship Bracelets with Linda Lawrence, using colorful genuine Tila double-hole beads.
• September 20: Organic Cuff Bracelet
• September 23: Painting on Wine Glasses
• September 27: Silver Aspen, Copper Sky
• October 2: Fresh Paint
