Fountain Hills Turkey Trot 5K: A Thanksgiving Morning Tradition!
Gobble Gobble, Fountain Hills! It’s time to lace up your sneakers, fluff those feathers, and get ready for one of the town’s favorite holiday traditions , the 2025 Fountain Hills Turkey Trot 5K Run & Fitness Walk!
This fun-filled community event takes place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27, 2025, right here in the heart of downtown Fountain Hills. The race kicks off at 7:15 a.m. along the Avenue of the Fountains — right across from our RE/MAX Sun Properties office! We’ll be out there cheering you on as you trot past with your family and friends!
A Fun Way to Start Thanksgiving Day
The Fountain Hills Turkey Trot is the perfect way to kick off your holiday with some fresh air and festive energy before the big feast. Whether you’re an experienced runner looking to set a new personal record or simply want to enjoy a brisk morning stroll before the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, this event has something for everyone.
You can choose between the chip-timed 5K run or the 1-mile fitness walk, making it an event the whole family can enjoy. Costumes are encouraged, so don’t be surprised if you see a few turkeys, pilgrims, and maybe even Santa making an early appearance!
Community, Charity & Fun
Each year, the Turkey Trot brings together residents and visitors for a morning of fitness and fun that captures the heart of Fountain Hills’ community spirit.
This year also features a special addition – Mayor’s Challenge!
Fountain Hills Mayor Gerry Friedel has pledged to donate $1 to the Extended Hands Food Bank for every participant who finishes faster than he does. So whether you’re running for fun, fitness, or a great cause, every step counts!
