Get ready to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day this Monday, March 17th, 2025! While we hope you will be joining us at the Irish Fountain Fest this Saturday the 15th, the festivities are far from over. Mark your calendars, because the fountain will turn a vibrant green at noon on March 17th for St. Patrick's Day!

Join us at our office starting at 10 AM for an open-door gathering! This longstanding tradition at the Sonoran Lifestyle Team with RE/MAX Sun Properties welcomes all our clients to come and enjoy the spirit of the holiday. We’ll be serving Irish Coffee—made with coffee, brown sugar, and a splash of Irish whiskey or Baileys—throughout the morning until just before the fountain turns green.

A bit of history: It all started on St. Patrick’s Day in 1978 when a young homebuilder rode his horse into a local tavern to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and his heritage. What could top such a stunt? How about a bet to turn the town’s fountain green, water ski around the fountain, and anyone who didn’t show up would be out $250! So, on St. Patrick’s Day 1979, with a large crowd watching from the shore, the world-famous fountain in Fountain Hills was dyed green, and all the bettors skied around the fountain as planned, except for one—he couldn’t get up on the skis.

Now, 46 years later, what started as a bet in a bar has become the annual Greening of the Fountain in Fountain Hills on St. Patrick’s Day. The fountain will flow emerald green at noon with cheers from the local crowds that gather around the park as the tradition continues.

The RE/MAX Sun Properties team will be on hand, ready to chat and enjoy a laid-back St. Patrick’s Day morning with everyone who stops by.
