Embark on a New Year's journey of exploration by conquering a new trail! The North Leg Trail, an extension of the Promenade Trail, awaits your footsteps. This picturesque path winds along a ridge, offering breathtaking views that separate the serene residential areas of Eagles Nest and Shadow Canyon.
Built and maintained by the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills Trailblazers, a dedicated volunteer group shaping the Preserve's trails by hand. This trail offers a good mix-up switchback and with elevation gains, your legs will feel on the trek back up the trail.
The North Leg Trail spans about 0.09 miles from the Promenade Trail, totaling a 1.8-mile out-and-back journey or a rewarding 2.8-mile round trip from the Adero Cayon trailhead. Excitingly, plans for future trail construction include a secondary path along the North Leg ridgeline, creating a looped adventure for avid hikers and nature enthusiasts alike.
New to Hiking in Fountain Hills? The Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills offers group hiking led by local volunteers. It’s a great way to get out and explore the trail system locally.
