Fountain Hills Unveils New 'Fountain of Light' Sculpture
Fountain Hills is excited to welcome its newest public art installation, the Fountain of Light. Designed and created by local artist and Fountain Hills resident Brian Schrader, the 45-foot glass spire is inspired by the town’s iconic fountain and now stands as a striking addition to the Avenue of the Fountains.
The sculpture features indirect interior lighting, which adheres to the town’s dark sky-friendly lighting codes, offering a beautiful glow without disturbing the night sky. At the base of the sculpture, a seating area provides a relaxing spot for residents and visitors to admire the artwork. Bronze plaques are also incorporated into the base design, honoring the town’s history, and its past mayors, and recognizing those who contributed to the project’s completion.
The Fountain of Light was made possible through successful fundraising efforts, including a significant contribution from the community. This incredible project was realized through the efforts of the FHCCA, also known as the iLoveFountainHills.com group and its Public Art Committee, along with support from the Town of Fountain Hills.
“We’re excited to see the Fountain of Light completed and ready to be enjoyed by the community,” said Carol Carroll, who led the fundraising efforts.
A Dedication and Lighting Ceremony will take place on September 25th at 6:30 PM, with the public invited to celebrate this remarkable addition to the town’s artistic legacy.
